Mission Statement:
To create a safe and fun environment for the student to deepen their understanding of the philosophy of yoga, energy anatomy, meditation, therapeutics, and the various styles and approaches to the physical discipline of yoga. It is our aim to nurture the individual's specific needs and interests while they continue in the process of spiritual evolution. Each student is encouraged to follow their heart and develop their voice.

 


Level 1
-- 200-hour Level 1 Program Application
Teacher Training and Deeper Studies:
200-hour program which qualifies the individual for Yoga Alliance Certification

Level 2 -- 300-hour Level 2 Program Application
Teacher Training and Deeper Studies:
300-hour comprehensive program which qualifies the individual for Yoga Alliance Certification at the 500-hour level when combined with a pre-requisite Level 1 200-hour program (please note, that while it is encouraged to take the BDY Level 1 200-hour program, a comparable 200-hour program will suffice to enroll in our Level 2 TT).

Continuing Education Units: Those teachers and/or students looking to deepen their studies may choose to participate in the 300-hour program workshops on individual weekends without enrolling in the full 300-hour mentorship program. Weekends will be priced individually and CEU certificates can be accumulated by those individuals looking to keep their
Yoga Alliance Certification up to date.

How many times do you offer the Level 1 TT?

2 times per year. The first starts in late January. The second starts in early July.

How many times do you offer the Level 2 TT?

Level 2 is ongoing for one year from June of the current year to May of the following year.

What if I can't start the Level 2 program in June?

You can start at anytime and will have to cycle into the following Level 2 to make up weekends missed. If you are not participating in the mentoring aspect of the program, you are free to take specific workshops weekends as you see fit (individual pricing may vary).

What is the cost of Level 1?

2,750 in 1 payment, or
975 in 3 payments, or
550 in 6 payments.

What is the cost of Level 2?

3,450 in 1 payment, or
1200 in 3 payments, or
615 in 6 payments, or
315 in 12 payments.

Are there fee reductions?

For Level 1 we are offering a 10% discount till the end of May and a 5% discount through June.

For Level 2 we are offering a 5% discount till the end of May.

What does mentoring entail?

The mentorship program consists of 113 contact hours within the Practicum and Teaching Methodology categories with our Key Faculty.  Mentors include Peter Barnett, Sigrid Matthews, Maria Cristina Jimenez and Jenny Brill.

As a participant in the mentorship program you may choose to work with one or more of the Key Faculty.

Your mentorship hours are broken down as follows and are to be fulfilled throughout the term of the program:

  • 80 hours Assisting Mentor Teacher (2hrs per class = 40 classes or approx. 1 class per week with allowance for missed weeks)
  • 24 hours teaching with mentor teacher in class observing and giving feedback (2 hours per class = 12 classes or approx 1 class per month)
  • 9 Mentor group meetings, dates to be determined (1 hour per meeting)
  • Total hours of mentorship program = 113

How long is the Level 1 TT?

It consists of three 4-week phases with one week off between each
phase. It runs about 3 months.

Phase One:
week 1 - July 9, 10, 11
week 2 - July 16, 17, 18
week 3 - July 23, 24, 25
week 4 - July 30, 31 Aug 1

Phase Two:
week 5 - Aug 13, 14, 15
week 6 - Aug 20, 21, 22
week 7 - Aug 27, 28, 29
week 8 - Sept 10, 11, 12

Phase Three:
week 9 - Sept 17, 18, 19
week 10 - Sept 24, 25, 26
week 11 - Oct 1, 2, 3
week 12 - Oct 8, 9, 10

How do the program hours for the Level 2 breakdown?

Our program is designed to take place as an extension program over the course of 13 weekend workshops from June 4, 2010 through May 22, 2011.

Our program is designed to fulfill the requirements of the Yoga Alliance Standards for RYT-500 certification when taken in concurrence with and approved 200-hour Level 1 teacher training.

Program Hours are broken down as follows:

What information will be covered in the Level 2 weekend workshops?

All workshops will either be taught or assisted by our key instructors Peter Barnett, Sigrid Matthews, Maria Cristina Jimenez and Jenny Brill.
Many of our weekend workshops will also be taught by special guest instructors. to be announced.

What days do you meet?

We meet on Friday nights from 6:30p till 9:30p and on Saturdays and
Sundays from 11:00a till 4:00p. Plus you need to audit one class a week
and take one class a week with a faculty teacher. For Level 2 there are
mentorship requirements.

How frequently do Level 2 weekends occur in a given month?

The frequency of the workshops varies by month. Typically they will
be once a month with a few months having 2 weekend workshops and a
few months having no workshops due to holidays, etc.

Who is the staff?

The core staff are four of BDY's 500ERYT yoga teachers that have a
combined 65 years of teaching credentials. Peter Barnett, Sigrid
Matthews, Jennifer Brill, and Maria Christina Jimenez. There will
be a variety of distinguished guest teachers throughout the course
of the Level 2, 300-hour program
